Medal of Honor
The Team
Medal of Honor was written and directed by Bill DePhillips. It stars Bob DePhillips, Will Matthews, Harry Hilbert, Jeff Smee, and Mike DePhillips. It was produced by Bill DePhillips and Harry Hilbert. The project was a long time in the making. After doing a small, horrible war movie in the summer of 99, we set out with the mission of making one that didn't suck. We scoured flea markets and E-Bay for props and the project snowballed. Our ambition was perhaps a little too high, since we weren't able to finish the movie before summer ended. However, after another summer of filming and lots of hard work, the movie was completed.
The Story
After finding a mysterious case, a special forces team is pursued and ambushed by the enemy. Forced to split up, all hell breaks loose as enemies relentlessly try to hunt them down. Sacrificing himself to save his second in command, Captain John Hale (Will Matthews) is taken prisoner. His second in command, Lt. Paul Brown, (Bob DePhillips) must lead the team to rescue him before it is too late. If that wasn't enough, a large scale enemy invasion has begun. It's a race against time to save not only their commander but themselves.
Project Status
The movie was released on December 20, 2001. Despite previous promises, there are no plans of a DVD release.
Equipment/Props Used
The movie was filmed with a Sony Hi-8 TRV-65 camcorder. It was edited on a Pinnacle DC30 Pro nonlinear editing system. The props were too numerous to mention. Over $1000 was spent on Army Surplus and Airsoft replica weapons. They were mostly purchased at local flea markets or on E-Bay. In terms of time and money, this movie is the biggest project we could ever hope to do.
