Summer 2002 Project???

With the completion of Medal of Honor, I paused and reflected on what we had accomplished over the years.  Literally hundreds of short works, three semi-long movies, and one feature-length project.  It filled me with a lot of pride but also a bittersweet realization that we had come as far we could go.  Anything more would require real actors, not just kids messing around.  Real film, not video.  We had grown up and run the path as long as we could.  This was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life but all things must come to an end.

Medal of Honor will definitely not be the last movie I am involved with.  Storytelling is in my blood and I could not live contently without taking part in that endeavor.  However, as for Pittsburgh Films, this may be the final fade out.  This summer will undoubtedly see some short-films and unscripted comedy material being made, but another major project seems very doubtful.  With the founding members attending college in distant locales, the younger members finding other interests or forming their own companies, and as stated before an arrival at the limitations of our resources, Pittsburgh Films may become a faded memory.

As for me, life will go on.  I've been writing several short and feature length screenplays.  To produce them would require a relatively low sum of money, but surely more than Pittsburgh Films has at its disposal.  This summer we may produce a short film (16mm most likely) and see how that works out.  If it goes well, Pittsburgh Films may not be dead after all, but may grow to become something even bigger.  However, only time will tell.  If this does end up being goodbye, thanks to everyone out there who saw our material and enjoyed it.

Medal of Honor

This was our most ambitious project. It is a war movie that was shot over the summers of 2000/2001 at several woodland areas in western Pennsylvania.  It was finally released Christmas 2001 to much praise.

Beast

We did this project a long time ago. However, it was our first big project and it turned out really well. It involved hard work on everyone's part to get it finished. It was shot at a local wooded area in the summer of 1997. Due to several delays and computer problems, it wasn't edited for a long time and was finally released in January of 1999. Copies somehow spread everywhere in our town and the cast members soon became well known because of it.
